At Jands Auto Repairs, we stand behind the quality of our work. This policy describes how we handle situations where a repair does not meet reasonable expectations, and what recourse is available to customers.
All repairs performed by Jands Auto Repairs are covered by a limited warranty on parts and labour. The standard warranty period is 90 days or 5,000 kilometres from the date of service, whichever occurs first, unless a different period is specified in writing at the time of service. This warranty covers:
The warranty does not cover:
If you believe a repair is covered by our warranty, please contact us as soon as the issue becomes apparent and within the warranty period. You can reach us by:
Please have your original invoice or repair order number available when you contact us. We will arrange for an inspection of the vehicle at no charge. If the issue falls within our warranty, we will perform the corrective work at no cost to you.
Automotive repair services are largely composed of labour that cannot be reversed once performed. As such, we do not offer refunds simply because a customer changes their mind after a service has been completed. However, we will work with you on a case-by-case basis if:
In cases of billing disputes, please contact us directly. We prefer to resolve issues through direct conversation, and in our experience most concerns can be addressed that way.
Parts that have been ordered specifically for your vehicle may not be returnable, depending on the supplier's policy. If you decide not to proceed with a repair after parts have been ordered and received, we will make a reasonable effort to return parts to the supplier but cannot guarantee a refund of parts costs already incurred. We will advise you before ordering non-returnable parts.
If a concern is not resolved to your satisfaction after speaking with our service team, Ontario's consumer protection framework provides additional recourse. Automotive repair businesses in Ontario are regulated under the Motor Vehicle Repair Act, and the Consumer Protection Ontario office can provide guidance on your rights. Additionally, the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC) handles complaints related to registered dealers; for independent repair shops, the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery oversees the Motor Vehicle Repair Act.
We hope disputes never reach that stage, and we commit to making a genuine effort to resolve any concern directly.
